I enjoy running and doing yoga. Even with my low-level running, I’ve had aches and pains, which helps me understand that physio works on all levels of injury—not just traumatic injuries or high-performance athletes. It’s also worth noting that working at a desk and other sedentary tasks (I’m a knitter!) cause soreness from repetitive strains. I know from experience and am able to reassure patients that their pain and injuries are worth treating and that physio works!
I appreciate the skills of our practitioners and the trust they establish with their patients. When I’m booking a patient in, I always have confidence that the physio or massage therapist will be able to assist with their pain or injury.
Over the last 28 years, I have developed an advanced practice in managing many different conditions, from chronic pain patients to young and active athletes. I have advanced training in manual therapy, exercise prescription, and vestibular and concussion rehab, and I can refer patients for X-rays, ultrasound and MRI scans. I also work closely with Sports Medicine Physicians and Physiatrists and have many years of managing complex patients undergoing injection therapies.
The care, competence, and concern that our practitioners show to our patients are reflected in our jobs as front staff as well. We create positive interactions with our patients while booking/rescheduling, and we work hard to be accurate in our invoicing and take care of all the behind-the-scenes insurance billing to make their experience at the clinic hassle-free—even enjoyable!
